In May, 2001, Dan started taking martial arts classes at the Reed Academy of Martial Arts in Cincinnati, OH.  I am very excited to be undertaking this challenge to improve my physical and mental fitness.  The art that is taught at the Reed Academy is called Jeet Kune Do.  This was developed and perfected by Bruce Lee.  The Reed Academy carries on the legacy of Bruce Lee by teaching the art of Jeet Kune Do to all serious students.  This is our page dedicated to Bruce Lee, the art of Jeet Kune Do, and the Reed Academy.

In Cantonese, Jeet Kune Do means "the way of the intercepting fist".  Empty your mind.  Be formless, shapeless, like water.  Now you put water into a cup,  it becomes the cup.  You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle.  You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot.  Now water can flow or it can crash... be water my friend.

The Reed Academy has JUST (March 2004) re-located AGAIN from it's Sharonville Facility to a convenient location in Fairfield, OH.  The new facility  is ideally suited as a martial arts training venue.  PLUS, SiFu Reed has plans to expand the facility as the school grows.  We can't wait to see The Reed Academy of Martial Arts evolve into a truly FIRST CLASS training facility!

SiFu Charles Reed will often have guest instructors come to the Reed Academy for special seminars.  Here is SiFu Reed, Professor Salem Assli (for the french art of Savate (Boxe Francaise-Savate).  Other guest instructors include Guro Dan Inosanto and Jean Jacques Machado
